چکیده

The Kabul River Basin (KRB) in Afghanistan is densely inhabited and heterogenic. basin’s water resources are limited, climate change anticipated to worsen this problem. Unfortunately, there a scarcity of data measure the impacts on KRB’s current resources. objective study introduce methodology that couples remote sensing Soil Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) for simulating impact existing KRB. Most biophysical parameters required SWAT model were derived from sensing-based algorithms. SUFI-2 technique was used calibrating validating with streamflow data. stream-gauge stations monitoring not only sparse, but also scarce limited. Therefore, we selected properly being monitored. During calibration period, coefficient determination (R2) Nash–Sutcliffe Efficiency (NSE) 0.75–0.86 0.62–0.81, respectively. validation period (2011–2013), NSE R2 values 0.52–0.73 0.65–0.86, validated then evaluate potential streamflow. Regional Climate Model (RegCM4-4) extract scenarios (RCP 4.5 8.5) CORDEX domain. results show most tributaries KRB would decrease by maximum 5% 8.5% under RCP 8.5 scenarios, However, Nawabad tributary increase 2.4% 3.3% To mitigate reduced/increased surface availability, model, when combined data, can be an effective tool support sustainable management strategic planning Furthermore, methodological approach applied any data-scarce regions around world.

Hydrological Impacts of Climate Change

The increasing rate of the global surface temperature will have a significant impact on local hydrological regimes and water resources, which leads to the assessment of the climate change impacts. Main parameters that are closely related to the climate change are temperature and precipitation. Therefore, there is a growing need for an integrated analysis that can quantify the impacts of climate...

Evaluating the Effects of Climate Change on Salt Crusts Using Remote Sensing (A Case Study of Sabzevar Playa)

In this study, five sequences of Landsat sensors including MSS, TM, ETM+ and OLI at unequal intervals spanning 42 years between 1973 and 2015, were analyzed to investigate the spatial and temporal variation of salt crusts in Sbzevar playa, central Iran. Landsat satellite imageries and ASTER digital elevation model were prepared, and spatial-temporal analyses were carried out in ENVI and GIS. Fu...

Investigation of climate change impacts on streamflow regime of a river Arazkooseh River Basin

In this research, impacts of climate change on the streamflow hydrological status of the Arazkooseh River are discussed. After Calibration and validation of the LARS-WG, HadCM3 was downscaled under A2 Scenario in three climatology station. Beside, calibration and validation of the SWAT model were done by observed data relative to past period of times. Streamflow values are then predicted using ...

Evaluation of Climate Change Impacts on Hydrological Characteristics of Watershed (Case study: Aji- Chai Watershed)

Studying climate change impact on hydrological variables such as runoff has attracted more attention over recent years mainly due to the imposed imbalance in climate system by greenhouse gas emission. Hence, initially in this research, the trend and abrupt changes of hydro – climatic variables were studied using data mining approaches in 18 stations over 40 years (1972-2011) in Aji-Chai waters...
